Baja

We much prefer THQ's elegantly singular "Baja" (it's the Madonna of dirty bikes), but hey, we'll keep an open mind about Left Field Productions' take on the "world's most grueling off-road race." To be published by Activision on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Windows PC, Score In
Hey guys, my first blog so I figured I’d keep it simple with a bit of news. Left Field Productions has confirmed that “Battle Poker” is in the works for WiiWare, and they are nearing completion. James Higgins, CEO at LFP commented: “Battles are played across multiple rounds with points scored for each round based on the quality of the hand. Each player uses a Wiimote to point and click on a deck of cards laid across the screen. The first click flips the card over at which point it can be gr
California-based developer Left Field Productions, responsible for the 64-bit recreation of Nintendo’s Excitebike franchise, has revealed that it is working on an original WiiWare game entitled Battle Poker. Boasting 4-way multiplayer support on a single Wii, the game challenges players to make the best hand possible in a five-card Poker game. Battles are waged across multiple rounds, with points awarded for each round based on the quality of the hand. At the end of a battle, points are tall
Back on the Nintendo 64, Left Field Productions Inc. created a racing game like no other. Now the developer of Excitebike 64 brings you their newest addition to the Nintendo Wii. Nitrobike is a motocross racing game that really has an explosion to it, sort of speak. Being compared to the earlier launch racing title Excite Truck, Nitrobike delivers to an extent but not as much as some hoped. Gameplay: Nitrobike is an arcade motocross racer that packs a punch with over-the-top boosting, a full
Left Field Productions is an independent video game development studio located in Ventura, California, USA. Founded in 1994 by industry veterans John Brandwood, Jeff Godfrey and Mike Lamb, Left Field is probably best known for their time spent as a Nintendo second-party developer, during which they designed the critically-acclaimed Nintendo 64 game Excitebike 64.
On April 23, 1998, Nintendo announced the purchase of a minority interest in Left Field Productions, allowing them to expand operations and ensuring a steady flow of exclusive content from the developer.
In September of 2002, after months of speculation, Left Field bought out Nintendo's stake in the company, once again becoming a fully independent third-party developer.

A Gamecube version of MTX Mototrax was in the works but was later cancelled as publisher Activision scaled back support for the platform.
A sequel to the Nintendo 64 game 1080° Snowboarding was in development at Left Field at one time. Development originated on the Nintendo 64 platform but was later shifted to the GameCube once Nintendo began phasing out the Nintendo 64. When Left Field separated with Nintendo in early 2002, Nintendo Software Technology took over development of the game, finally releasing 1080° Avalanche on December 1, 2003.
It is unknown how far into production the game was when Left Field left the project, or just how much, if any, of Left Field's work is present in the final game. It has been speculated that Left Field's version of the game had a much more arcade-like feel than it's predecessor.
Left Field Entertainment
Left Field Productions is often confused with Left Field Entertainment, a now defunct development house from the early 1990s and developer of the games Relief Pitcher and Steel Talons for the arcade and several fourth generation consoles. There is no known relation between the two companies.
