Hellgate: London finds success in Korea

Joystiq, VideoGamer.com and a few other sites have an article up that talks about how Hellgate London did in Korea in tems of sales and accounts that signed up for it. Bill Roper and company have announced that in the two weeks since the Korean launch of the Hellgate beta more than a million accounts have been registered. Rumours and Speculations: New monster for 1.3?

We’ll leave this one as a rumour for now, as I am not sure if the pictures are real or just ones with a Hellgate Logo plastered over them. But going by Game Meca’s usual record, I would say the pictures are real. They reveal a new monster and new area, and some text that has been roughly translated by Google Translator states that this new area is rumoured for patch 1.3 which is due on the 14th of April. HanbitSoft (Korean: 한빛소프트) is a Korean computer game publishing and development company. It is best known internationally as the Korean distributor for the successful computer game StarCraft.

Formed in 1999, HanbitSoft specializes in the distribution of massively multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPGs) to Eastern Asian countries. The publishing company is domestically successful, claiming the top five percent of the nation's computer game market share, and has emerged internationally with its flagship game, Tantra Online. HanbitSoft recently entered into an agreement with Japanese-based Namco to publish a first person action RPG called Hellgate: London, developed by Flagship Studios.
