    P. P. Hammer - A Demonware Production

No, not that Demonware. You see, it turns out that that there was another games company called Demonware a long time ago, which made the following game: Now, is it just me, or is that the most phallic symbolism you've ever seen in a computer game box? P. P. Hammer's pneumatic weapon, indeed... And then, there's the snake, the ghost, and the money shot with the champagne bottle. Bonus YouTube of actual gameplay!

DemonWare is a maker of network middleware for the gaming industry. Their products are used in titles for the console and PC market. Their clients include many of the biggest games publishers including THQ, Sega, Activision, Namco, Treyarch and Empire Interactive. Games featuring DemonWare's middleware include Starship Troopers, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and Rainbow Six: Vegas.

DemonWare's products enable games publishers to outsource their networking requirements, allowing them to concentrate on playability. Outsourcing is becoming popular in the industry and was pioneered by companies like Havok whose physics engine has become popular in the games and special effects industries.

The two main products developed by DemonWare are the DemonWare State Engine and Matchmaking+. The State Engine is a high-performance state synchronization C++ programming framework that eliminates the need to re-invent netcode for your multiplayer games. Matchmaking+ provides services for multiplayer games such as matchmaking, user profiling and gaming statistics.
